Purpose of this document
This page identifies the operating environment configurations that Pro Gamma supports. Solutions not included in the following list may be used, but Pro Gamma cannot guarantee correct functioning of applications in all cases.
IDE
The Instant Developer IDE is supported on Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and 10. The Team Works server is supported on Windows Server 2003 or later and requires installation of SQL Server (Express) 2005 or later.
Server architectures
- Microsoft .NET: all versions of .NET are supported from 2.0 and all versions of IIS from 6 (7 in the case of applications that use Web APIs).
- Java: all versions of J2SE from 6.0 are supported, and servlet containers compatible with Java Servlet 2.3 specification or later.
Desktop browsers
- Chrome: version 69 of the browser released by Google is supported.
- Firefox: version 62 released by Mozilla Foundation is supported.
- Safari: version 11.0 is supported in Mac OS.
- Internet Explorer: versions 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11 are supported. Version 6 is supported as far as general behavior, but there are some known graphic differences.
- Edge: version 42 of the browser released by Microsoft is supported.
Web applications developed with the
Bootstrap theme have different levels of compatibility. For more information please see the corresponding article on supported features.
Mobile applications
- iOS: iOS 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12 are supported on iPhone, iPad, and iPad mini devices.
- Android: Android is supported from version 4.0 through version 9.0 (Pie).
The Ionic mobile theme introduced in version 16.5 supports Android beginning from version 6.0. - Note 1: use of offline applications is only supported within the Caravel app container or through the installation package created using Instant Developer. Consequently, Pro Gamma cannot guarantee correct operation in all cases of applications used through browsers installed on devices or from the related shortcut created on the Home screen.
- Note 2: use of online mobile applications is also supported in the standard device browsers (Safari for iOS, Chrome for Android, and Edge for Windows 10).
- Note 3: the application must use a mobile type graphical theme (currently: Mobile, Quadro, Mobile7, and Ionic).
- Note 4: on Android the BackupFile feature is not available, because it is specific to the iOS operating system.
Databases
- Oracle: versions 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 are supported.
- SQL Server: versions 2000, 2005, 2008, 2012 and 2014 are supported.
- DB2/UDB: version 10.5 and later are supported.
- DB2/400: operating system 5.1 and later are supported.
- Postgres: version 9.3 and later are supported.
- MySQL: version 5.6 and later are supported.
- SQLite version 3.6 and later are supported.
- Access: versions 97, 2000, 2003, 2010, and 2013 are supported.
- Note 1: the database types listed are supported at the level of schema management and query writing. Other database types can be used by applications through generic ODBC/JDBC connections, but there may be limitations due to the behavior of the driver.
- Note 2: the creation of triggers, stored procedures, and stored functions is supported in native database language for Oracle and SQL Server. For other database types, stored procedures are converted to functionally equivalent procedures on the application server side.
- Note 3: The .NET Managed connector is not currently supported for Oracle 12.
